Hey all, I'm home! I have been for, like, the past 5 days, but that's neither here nor there. My mom and I had a "talk" which means she spoke to me her opinions. I think that now that she has gotten all of that off her chest she feels better. Not that many insults, but it's hard to get my own opinions in without her getting all worked up. Guida gave me some advice and, well, so long as my mother and I are on speaking terms and better terms than we have for the past few days, I'm happy. It just seems like she has her own opinions and she hopes that I'll be happy but seems to think that I'm young and stupid and in love, and Matt is going to dump me at any second. Well, it won't be until I'm married that she'll actually be happy. Or something. *shrug* Oh well, at least we're on speaking terms again. I don't think I'm that bad of a kid, and I don't think my values are absolutely horrible, as she seems to believe, and that I have taken nothing from her but what can you do.

There was a huge earthquake (7.9) in Peru (off the coast just outside Lima), but thankfully my entire family is safe.

I'm pretty excited about this weekend. Tomorrow's Superbad and then Saturday is the Wiener Roast at Gennie's place. AWESOME.

I just finished Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince and, good Lord, I not only cried ALL OVER AGAIN, but I have just made myself exceedingly impatient for the last book to come out.

Man, there was stuff that I totally didn't remember reading before. I'm so glad that I decided to reread it.

Anyways, I'm going to fall asleep soon...*snore* Thank goodness my circuits midterm is done.

Taken from [Unknown LJ tag]

1. Bold the names of guys you'd definitely shag.
2. Italicize the names of guys you might shag after a little persuasion.
3. Leave the guys who don't do anything for you alone.
4. Put a question mark after the guys you've never heard of.
5. Strike the guys you wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.
6. ADD THREE OF YOUR OWN AT THE END.
NAKED MEN. Now that I have your attention... )

I obviously haven't heard of a lot of people.

Is it particularly pathetic that I practically burst out in tears after listening to that song from Les Mis where Eponinne dies?

I thought so too.

Matt had his surgery yesterday. I hate seeing him in pain. I kind of wish he never had this surgery done. Oh well, it has a great success rate.

Everyone,
I need yellow leg warmers. For serious. I need them before the 21st. If anyone knows where I can purchase a pair of yellow (canary yellow or sunshine yellow, not mustard yellow or anything like that) then please, LET ME KNOW. Thanks!

And so today was my first midterm, in circuits and t-lines. Not bad. First two questions I totally buzzed through, third question however I muddled it up horrible, MAINLY because I TOTALLY forgot that Volts-Amperes signified the MAGNITUDE of the complex power! STUPID ELIZABETH! Oh well.

In other news, tomorrow is Boston Pizza night! Whee! So far it is Matt and I, Gennie, Carolyn, Sara, James, Stef, Elena (and I'm guessing her boyfriend), Benger, Meagan, Rick...and that's all I know of. One day - actually, Wednesday - I was like, "Man, I'm hankerin' for Boston Pizza." And James was like, "Dude, we should go." And I was like, "DUDE, we should all go!" And that was how my brilliant plan came to be, almost like how Athena came out of Zeus's head. Well no, not really.

I know a girl
She puts the color inside of my world
and she's just like a maze
Where all of the walls all continually change

And I've done all I can
To stand on the steps with my heart in my hand
Now I'm starting to see
Maybe it's got nothing to do with me

Fathers be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters, too

Ooh, you see that skin
It's the same she's been standing in
Since the day she saw him walking away
Now she's left cleaning up the mess he made

So fathers be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters, too

Boys you can break
You find out how much they can take
Boys will be strong and boys soldier on
But boys would be gone without warmth from a woman's good, good heart

On behalf of every man, looking out for every girl
You are the god and the weight of her world

So fathers be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters, too
So mothers be good to your daughters, too
So mothers be good to your daughters, too

And so, another one of my beloved Star Trek actors has gone to that great big starship in the sky. Ah, James Doohan. What a guy, what a guy. It made me so sad to hear that he died, as that meant that was yet another character of my favourite television series to leave, but he was surrounded by the people he loved. Plus, his ashes get to be blasted off into space, so that's always cool.

And so, I raise this glass of scotch to you, dear Scotty. It always was the drink for a man.

OMGWTF. I thought I had lost my aviators and was mourning their loss. And then I find them where the sunglasses are always kept.

I think this is a sign that I am messier beyond belief if I can't find something when they're in the same place they've always been.

And I also think that when the only thing I have to report are my missing sunglasses, I am truly pathetic.

Yes! It's the pop ballad from Phantom of the Opera! *grins*

Think of Me - The Phantom of the Opera

CHRISTINE
Think of me,
Think of me fondly
When we've said goodbye
Remember me once in awhile.
Please promise me you'll try.
When you find that once again you long to take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment
Spare a thought for me!
We never said our love was ever green
Or as unchanging as the sea
But if you can still remember stop and think of me!
Think of all the things we've shared and seen
Don't think about the way things might have been
Think of me
Think of me waking silent and resigned.
Imagine me trying too hard to put you from my mind.
Recall those days
look back on all those times.
Think of the things we'll never do.
There will never be a day when I won't think of you

RAOUL
Can it be?
Can it be Christine?
Bravo!
Long ago,
It seemed so long ago
How young and innocent we were
She may not remember me,
But I remember...

CHRISTINE
Flowers fade
The fruits of summer fade
They have their season
So do we.
But please promise me that sometimes
You will think ah... of me!

Well...screwed for English. But oh well. I'll make up some BS and see where that gets me. I paid attention most of the class, and there's always tomorrow to study more.

Well, another one is done. Calc wasn't all that horrible. I'm thinking it was because of the cram session on Sunday and this morning. I was almost stumped by the parametric curve drawing bit, but it's all good.

Right. So right after my calc exam, I headed over to the study place near the Parker and studied for physics with Tyra. I'm going back there tomorrow to do more studying, because Tyra's always fun to study with. She's a great girl.

Anyways, that's my life so far. END.

Right now I'm on my brother's compy. Tee hee hee! My dad was on the "family" one and I was like, "Yeah, whateva." So I commandeered Matthew's.

I'm finally finished my English paper. Yippee. That would be the last one. I'm sick and tired of writing papers on English Literature. I'm glad I'm done. With that shit now. Imagine that 5 years ago I wanted to do this as a career. I'm glad I veered off that path. I mean, personally. I have nothing wrong with English Lit. people or whatever. It's just that I hate doing it. Give me an algebraic expression to integrate and I'm happy!

All right. Speaking of integrals, I should go study. Maybe I'll do some calc. wiz00t.

Wow, this is bad. Chem is the first exam and the one I've studied for the least.

We're Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time)
by Trooper

A very good friend of mine
Told me something the other day
I'd like to past it onto you
Cause I believe what he said to be true

He said:
We're here for a good time
Not a long time
So have a good time
The sun can't shine everyday

And the sun is shining
In this rainy city
And the sun is shining
Ooh isn't it a pity?
That every year has it's share of tears
Every now and then it's gotta rain

We're here for a good time
Not a long time
So have a good time
The sun can't shine everyday

And the sun is shining
In this rainy city
And the sun is shining
Ooh isn't it a pity?
That every year has it's share of tears
Every now and then it's gotta rain

We're here for a good time
Not a long time
So have a good time
The sun can't shine everyday

We're here for a good time
Not a long time
So have a good time
The sun can't shine everyday

We're here for a good time
Not a long time
So have a good time
The sun can't shine everyday

We're here for a good time
Not a long time
So have a good time
The sun can't shine everyday

We're here for a good time
Not a long time
So have a good time
The sun can't shine everyday
